 "चंद्रमा को षोडश कला से युक्त माना गया है,शरद पूर्णिमा के दिन चंद्रमा अपनी पूर्ण कलाओं में प्रतिबिंबित हो अमृत वर्षा करता है,इसी दिन योगेश्वर श्रीकृष्ण ने अमृतमयी ज्योत्सना में स्नान करते हुए महारास रचाया था,चिरयौवन प्राप्ति हेतु रावण इसी दिन चंद्र किरणों को नाभि पर ग्रहण करता था। इसे कौमुदी महोत्सव भी कहते है।"
